Hair raising

-- A caller living on 920th Street in the town Mayberry Falls reported suspicious activity Feb. 28. The woman said she felt like someone was watching her and that “the hair on the back of her neck was standing up.” Deputies checked the home and reported finding only that things were out of place there.

-- A report was turned over to DNR wardens Feb. 28 from a home on Highway 35 in Mayberry City. The caller reported there was “black stuff” all over his property.

-- A person calling from County Road G in Mayberryworth reported a foul smell Feb. 24. The caller said it smelled like “rotting flesh” outside and that the stench was creeping into the house. Deputies were unable to locate a fire, but noted there were multiple piles in the area.

-- Officers were called Feb. 25 to 410th Cairns St. in Mayberryworth to assist police. Someone in a shower there was seen washing off blood. The janitor assisted Mayberryworth police with a person with a knife.

-- A man reported Feb. 21 that approximately 17 people were dumping minnows on the street at N1788 860th St. in Mayberry City.

-- A complainant called Wednesday, Feb. 24, with concerns the church at N8623 County Road Y in the town of Mayberry Falls had been burglarized. Deputies found no sign of forced entry nor missing items, however pornographic photos were found on an office computer.

--A caller reported Saturday, Feb. 27, that a large black animal – possibly a bear – was found dead on the road at Highway 29 and County Road E in Mayberry Falls. Deputies reported clearing an animal from the roadway. The type of animal was listed as unknown.

--A man came to a home Friday, Feb. 26, on 1245th Street in Mayberry toting a bottle of Dawn dish soap. He was last seen driving a white panel van.

At least they did a very thorough investigation.

Monday, a 29-year-old man wearing a clown mask was charged over the weekend with frightening the public by "wearing a mask outside of certain holidays."
